BUSINESS LEADER AWARDS

This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of small business to the economy and overall development of the Cayuga County area. Awards will be presented at the Chambers' Small Business Week Luncheon in May.

Small Business of the Year Award Class 2-5 Years:

This award recognizes a small businessperson who has demonstrated entrepreneurship evidenced by diversification, creativity and imagination in the development of new products/services and markets.

Small Business of the Year Award Class 6-14 Years: 

This award recognizes the small businessperson who has demonstrated the ability to overcome adversities in the ever-changing business

environment.

Small Business of the Year Award Class 15+ Years:

This award recognizes a small business person that has demonstrated staying power with a commitment to community involvement and

community projects.

Terri Bridenbecker Outstanding Young Professional Award:

Recognizes an individual who is pursuing excellence in his/her career. A young professional is a goal oriented person under the age of 40.

Criteria for selection:

  • The nominee must be the CEO, Owner or Manager of a privately held business with 100 or fewer employees.
  • The nominee’s business must be a member in good standing of the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce for a minimum of two years.
  • The nominee must have demonstrated entrepreneurship and leadership evidenced by diversification, creativity and imagination in the development of new products and new markets.
  • The nominee’s business needs to have demonstrated staying power and positive response to adversity in a changing business environment.
  • The nominee and his or her business will have demonstrated community involvement and commitment to community projects.
  • All nominees must be living at the time they are nominated.
