As a program of the Cayuga County Chamberof Commerce, the IGNITE young professionals group seeks to unite all of Cayuga County's promising young talent - be they farmer, artist, business owner or specialist.

What is a Young Professional?

In recent years, the service and technology industries and small businesses have surpassed manufacturing as the driving force of our economy. This has led to a wide array of creative and unique employment opportunities, most of which are being filled by individuals under the age of 40.

This growing force of young people now beginning to enter and dominate our nation's workforce is recognized as the Young Professional.

A Young Professional is simply a goal- oriented individual between the ages of 21-39 with a mind set to pursue a career path. It is much less the job or vocation that defines the Young Professional as it is the individual's drive and investment in his or her own future, and consequently the future of the community and our nation as a whole.

We plan to organize regular events to allow Young Professionals to socialize, learn and contribute.These will include:

Professional Development: from seminars and workshops to conferences

Outreach: from participation at local special events to organizing community improvement projects
